Mite wash is the most reliable method for monitoring and calculating the number of parasitic Varroa destuctor mites in a honey bee colony. Comes with small strainer, so you can reuse the Mite Wash. It involves capturing a sample of about 300 nurse bees and agitating them in a liquid, which forces the mites to detach from the bees so they can be accurately counted. Poison if digested!
